The Lean-In-Athon was such an energizing and inspiring event! Thank you to everyone who participated in the activities and shared their ideas about how Lean In Seattle can #MoveWomenForward. Your innovative ideas from Saturday will drive event programming for our next CONNECT events on August 11 and November 10.
Our first Masterclass of 2018 explored what it means to be an ally in our everyday lives. Since we know it takes everyone being an ally to make the most impact, we invited our traditional group of Lean In Seattle members and encouraged attendees to bring their allies to learn with us. Our most diverse audience yet included, men, women, and children.
To contribute to the process of Moving Women Forward, we must first create a space where individuals can talk openly about how uneven the starting line is across our community. The more we talk about the areas where we need support—for example, Economic Empowerment—the more authentic, dynamic, transformative, and successful our efforts to Move Women Forward can be.
At our November 2017 event EMPOWER YOUR FINANCIAL SKILLS: Inclusion + Education for Economic Advancement, Chiatra Vedullapalli shared her story and the tools she’s used over the last 22 years to achieve independence and financial intelligence.
